Retaining Walls · Canton, MI
Retaining walls built to hold.
Structural block walls, terraced slopes, boulder and timber walls for homes, townhome communities and commercial sites across Canton, Plymouth and Northville.

How We Build
A straight wall starts below the ground
Most walls that lean, bulge or crack fail because of what happened underneath: a thin base, no drainage, or no reinforcement. We build every wall from the bottom up so it stays straight through Michigan freeze and thaw.
- Dug and compacted base: excavated below grade and packed in layers so the wall can’t settle.
- Drainage behind the wall: clean stone and perforated pipe so water can’t build pressure.
- Reinforced when tall: geogrid tied back into the hillside on taller walls.
- Engineered when required: engineered plans and permits handled for walls that need them.
Wall Types

Segmental block walls
Interlocking block in a range of colors and textures. Strong, clean-looking, and our most common choice for tall walls and terraces.
Natural stone & boulder walls
Large boulders or stacked stone for a natural look on hillsides, wooded lots and garden slopes.
Timber walls
A cost-effective option for long, lower slopes and multi-unit properties.
Commercial walls
Walls at stormwater ponds, parking areas, dumpster pads and building fronts, built to plan and on schedule.

Questions
Retaining wall FAQ
Do I need a permit or an engineer?
Taller walls, and walls holding up driveways, structures or steep slopes, often need engineered plans and a permit. Requirements vary by city, so we’ll tell you what applies to your project and handle the paperwork.
Why is my existing wall leaning?
Usually water pressure behind the wall, a base that settled, or no reinforcement on a tall wall. We can look at it and tell you whether it can be repaired or needs to be rebuilt.
How long does a wall take to build?
It depends on height, length and access. You’ll get a timeline with your written quote.
When is the best time to build?
Spring through late fall, whenever the ground isn’t frozen. Booking early gets you a better spot on the schedule.
